Winter Solstice Bonfire at the Montague Retreat Center

Ready to be together around the Fire? We will be gathering around a very large and hot bonfire to honor the darkest time of the year and to welcome the return of the light. 5 Star Provisions by Wheelhouse Catering
- Doors are at 3:30pm.
- Namory Keita from Guinea is offering a West African Drum Class inside at that time. (Masks required).
- Morris Dancers “Winter Tradition” will offer their ritual dance around the fire just before sundown.
- Our very special fire lighting will be at 5pm.
- There will be a hard stop for our drumming at at 9:30pm.
- Fire spinning is welcome.
The fire will be large enough so that we can properly social distance and still stay warm. That said, please wear lots of layers. The holiday bazaar will be inside starting at 8pm with many hand made crafts and vegan gluten free donuts. James Bird will offer a gorgeous set of music inside at 9:30pm. There will be a few additional heaters or small fires for elders and kids.
Parking is up the hill, just follow the signs.
The event is being catered by Wheelhouse Catering. Dinner will be available from 5:30 until 7:30pm. Our Menu will be announced with veggie and non-veggie options HOT MULLED CIDER (cider available until late)
Admission is a $20 donation in advance for the HeARTbeat Collective, a 501c3, and will help cover the expenses of the gathering. Dinner will be available for an additional $20, including vegetarian and meat options
There are additional shifts for those that prefer barter. Bonfire prep on Friday mid day and Saturday morning, Dec. 17th and 18th.
Parking shifts, set up and clean up help is welcome in exchange for entry.
No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
This event is limited to 250 attendees. Refunds will be available for this event up to 48 hours before Dec. 18th.
